The Powerful Implications of Worldviews

May 21, 2009
Ideas have Consequences
Worldviews are important things, and they can be dangerous. If you pick the wrong worldview or if you were to give your children the wrong worldview, you will bring unmitigated evil upon this earth.
Worldviews are taught primarily through education, and they will impact the way you think about everything, the way you vote, the way your families will live thirty years from now, and the way you consider science and the environment. Bill Jack from Worldview Academy joins us on this edition of Generations to share concerning the many implications of a worldview.

Bad Guys 2009. . . Good Guys 0 Dr. James Dobson from Focus on the Family concedes a loss in the culture war, but vows to keep on fighting. With fatherlessness, homosexuality, birth implosions, the infatuation with death, socialism, etc. on the exponential increase, what can we expect in the next 40 years? For now, we're losing the culture war, but the entire deck is about to be reshuffled. Christians are losing, but then again, so are the humanists. In an estimated 39 years France will be a Muslim state. In 15 years, Netherlands will be 50% Muslim, and a few years after that, it will be a Muslim state also. Germany is slated to be a Muslim state by 2050. America will face vast changes, as Kevin Swanson enumerates on this edition of Generations. In the ensuing chaos, what will happen to the Christian faith? There are tremendous opportunities opening up for those who are willing to face the reality of our present state.

Creating a Covenant-Keeping Community Part of the dissolution of the nuclear family required a move towards no-fault divorce which came to this country in due course between 1970 and 1983. What do you do when you live in a nation characterized by flakiness? Reverse the no-fault divorce laws? How do you put Humpety back together again? Kevin Swanson recommends establishing covenant-keeping communities. Imagine a church that will not take as members those that are planning to get divorced – churches that will hold families accountable to this commitment, and dis-fellowship covenant breakers. Imagine families training their children to be faithful, loyal, humble, and sacrificial covenant-keepers!

Visiting the Fatherless With 40% of boys now born without fathers, and the fatherless making up some 85% of youth in prison and 75% of youth in drug treatment, how does the body of Christ respond to this cultural catastrophe? Kevin Swanson interviews Scott McNaughton from Fathers in the Field ministry, a wonderful program designed to minister to the fatherless, and build more gardens in the ashes. If you know a fatherless boy, if you are related to a fatherless boy, if a fatherless boy attends your church, you absolutely must listen to this edition of Generations!

Cultivating Strong Leadership Teams You’ve heard of the seven habits of highly effective people. Now we present the seven habits of highly ineffective people, specifically focused on fathers, pastors, and elders in churches. Why are families and churches so weak? Weak leaders. Bad Shepherds. Poor Vision. The inability to distinguish between gnats and camels. Listen to this strikingly practical program if you want to build stronger covenant relationships and build some serious kingdom bulwarks out of your family and church community.

Abandoning Government Solutions With the present crisis, economists now project a much quicker bankruptcy for the social security and medicare programs. When do we abandon the sinking ship and start building a new one? Kevin Swanson rips up his social security annual report on air, and encourages families to start applying the biblical principles of 1 Timothy 5 and Matthew 15:1-8. Anybody under 60 years of age should abandon social security as a worthless retirement program now. Wise families will put zero confidence in this worthless Ponzi scheme, and start working on Plan B NOW.

...Running for GovernorFamily Projects What's your family project? Every family needs a mission, a vision, and a project. Hopefully this will constitute something more significant than making a pile of money and dying with the most toys. Kevin Swanson interviews Cal Zastrow from Personhood USA, on his family's involvement in a number of projects including the Personhood Amendment and smuggling Bibles into communist countries. Whether it be a missions trip, running for Governor, or witnessing in front of an abortion clinic, all of these projects will send a message home to our children. We are called to be salt and light in a lost world, and Jesus calls us to give up our lives for Him.

Increased Centralization and Socialization For the first time in American history, the Federal Government has become the biggest source of revenue for state and local governments. In the 150 year effort to centralize power and control in the nation, and bring full-on tyranny to a free country, this makes for a landmark achievement! Although a few states continue to mumble something about a tenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the corporations, the banks, and the people know their "massah" well, out on the big federal plantation. Kevin Swanson talks to the improbabilities of secession in the immediate future of the nation on this segment. The Psychosis of a Nation The Massive Increase in Psychotropic Drugs The use of psychotropic drugs has doubled in the last ten years for the post-65 crowd. Are we going crazy? Kevin Swanson gives a horse-sense analysis of depression, and talks to the hopelessness that seems to prevail in a lost and lonely post-modern wilderness.

Wise Wedding Expenditures What woman would consume her father’s inheritance on a wedding, or worse yet, incur debt on the wedding? She’s not even married yet, and she’s already tearing her house down with her hands (Prov. 14:1)! With the average American spending $28,000 on weddings, Kevin Swanson looks at the history of weddings and suggests a more reasonable approach to wedding expenditures. The Most Significant Current Social Trend The Rise in Lesbianism The incidence of lesbianism has increased 3 fold in just the last 10 years, and it’s affecting Christian families everywhere. Kevin Swanson points out how Christian families raise their daughters to be lesbians in this segment of the Generations broadcast.

Malachi Dads with Vision in Prison 70% of inner city kids are born without fathers. And 85% of those incarcerated in America come from single-parent homes. If America has the highest incarceration rate in the world, and children of incarcerated dads are 7X more likely to go to prison than other kids, then what do we have to look forward to in the next generation? Generational catastrophe! In the ashes of this catastrophe, somebody is planting a garden. Somebody came up with the idea of bringing Malachi 4:6 into the most violent prisons in America. Kevin Swanson interviews Lyndon Azcuna, director of Awana's Lifeline program on this edition of Generations, in one of the most exciting interviews we've ever done. Guys doing 40 to life for armed robbery are loving their kids and teaching these precious children God's Word as they sit in a maximum security prison. Here is a beautiful message of reconciliation, fatherhood, discipleship, and God's grace.

Asylum in America Occasionally, people still come to America for political asylum. This is the case with the Uwe Romike family, who escaped Germany for the intense persecution experienced by a few families there who have rejected a materialist worldview-indoctrination for their children. Apparently, schools in Germany are so naturalist and materialist in their metaphysics, they do not teach the children to fear God in the science classes – a fundamental constituent of a hard-edged secularism. Kevin Swanson interviews attorney Mike Donelly and Christian father, Uwe Romike on this edition of Generations. Why would a man leave his motherland, his friends, and family over the matter of the education of his children? Is he overreacting, or is this an example of stalwart faith?
