Is Barack Obama the fourth best president or the fourth worst president when it comes to increasing the size and purview of the federal government? President Obama insists he's in the top four, but he's not getting the sympathy of the Generations men on that one. Scientists in Holland shocked the world this week when they revealed how easy it was to make "Super Bug," a strain of the H5N1 virus that could knock out millions (if not billions) of people. But relax. The bug is under lock and key (no armed guards however). Kevin Swanson points out that the vulnerability of modern civilization is at an all-time high despite the scientific advances and political controls of big government.

What happens when atheist die? Two of the most famous atheists in the world died over the last weekend--Christopher Hitchens and Kim Jong Il of North Korea. Does anybody go to hell? What can we say about the leading atheists in the world? On this edition of Generations, Kevin Swanson contrasts the death of the wicked with the death of those who die in covenant with Christ.

The worst genocide in the world continues in Southern Sudan, as the north continues to bomb innocent citizens in several districts. Kevin Swanson interviews men on the ground from Persecution Project (including Brad Phillips and Matt Chancey), on the political and religious situation in the country. With the possible exception of North Korea, there is no more brutal regime killing of their own people in the world (right now).

Stories about girls vomiting themselves to death and dystopian death games entertain the youth of the present day. Kevin Swanson takes a brief journey into popular teen reading fare, and discusses a Christian view of fiction with Christian author, Lee Duigon.

Evangelicals are crowding behind another broken Republican candidate, and we doubt he is going to do much to “fix” western civilization. But why are these men having such a time with adultery and divorce? They are, of course, representatives of the people. But if we are going to reform society in any way, we must begin with solid foundations—solid marriages. Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner discuss what the Bible means when it speaks of a marriage “covenant.” Also, we discuss the fundamental purpose for marriage (from a biblical standpoint).

Man-centered humanism was strong in the ancient classical world of Greece and Rome. But it came back in full force in the modern "Christian" west. The seedbed of humanism was the Christian lands of Germany, Italy, England, and America. Kevin Swnason points out how humanism has corrupted education, medicine, and family life. These humanist countries will not survive in the long haul. Their ideologies destroy themselves. Euthanasia is picking up, just about everywhere. Babyboomers, are you ready? Almost half of American adults remain unmarried, and the Millennials prefer parenting to marriage now!

Christians recommending Alice Cooper's "Welcome 2 My Nightmare?" A Christian seminary professor enamored with Harry Potter, Dumbledore, and J.K Rowling? Why are Christians so naive in the cultural wars? They are bound to be consumed, until they wake up and realize there is a war raging - a war of ideas, culture, and life.

Storms of controversy surround child training approaches, including the work produced by parenting guru's, Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo. With millions of resources floating around the Christian world from these folks, Generations wades into the conflagration to analyze the good, the bad, and the ugly. Undoubtedly, the Ezzos have said some good things and lives have been changed. But is it biblical to forbid 'sleeping with a baby' or 'child-cued feedings?' Widening the discussion to every child-training program in the world, Kevin Swanson gives several interpretive rules parents ought to use when evaluating the merits of parenting resources.

Is it possible to have your doctrine straight while you loosen up on your biblical practice? Kevin Swanson interviews R.C. Sproul, Jr. on the relationship of orthodoxy to orthopraxy, addressing the issue of birth control in the biblically-directed family.

There is an idea that suggests that Christians and non-Christians operate in two different law systems, one in God's law revealed in the Bible and the other in God's law revealed in nature with no aid from the Bible. These two law systems define two distinct kingdoms with two distinct goals. The kingdom of God's law in the Bible is concerned with redemption and the non-Bible kingdom with things like politics and education. But what about “thy kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven”? Is the kingdom in heaven ruled by natural law or Biblical law? And when Jesus commissioned the church to make disciples of all nation by teaching them all that He has commanded, does that all include the law of God as recorded in the Bible? Dave Buehner speaks with Bojidar Marinov about how two-kingdom thinking is separating ethics from politics and gospel from all of life.
