Comprehensive Sexual Education is on a Roll - Why Abstinence Sex Ed Doesn’t Work Either

March 29, 2016
We take a look at the rise in comprehensive sex education and the weak attempt to bring abstinence sex education into the public schools. A right perspective of the uses of the law of God will help us understand why pure moralism in the public schools, paid for by $1 billion of tax monies, won’t fix the problem. We suggest something better: parents teaching Proverbs 1:7, 5, and 7, as well as the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

This program includes:

1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Governor Nathan Deal Caves In to Persecute Christians in Georgia, ACLU Sues North Carolina, ISIS Loses Ground in Syria)

2. Generations with Kevin Swanson

Georgia’s Republican Governor Nathan Deal says that Jesus wouldn’t discriminate against homosexuals when it comes to officiating homosexual weddings. The Religious Liberty bill in Georgia is dying the slow death of a thousand qualifications, a harbinger of what is to come across the country. So you thought the 1960s were bad? The percentage of Americans who have “ever tried” marijuana has risen from 4% to 40% since 1969. In the 1960s, Francis Schaeffer talked about the escape from reality and the crossing over of the line of despair. The crossover is almost complete now. The use of mind-altering drugs among Americans (either on the street or over-the-counter) is on the increase. What does this mean for the country? People live out their world views, so what is that worldview? This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Georgia Governor Waffling on Religious Liberty Bill, Some United Methodists Are Fighting for Pro-Life Cause, North Carolina Legislature Slaps Charlotte’s Bathroom Bill) 2. Modern Christians often want to put pleasure fairly far ahead of procreation when it comes to marriage. Contraception usage is assumed, and worship and gratitude take a back seat to personal gratification and sensuality. Kevin Swanson discusses these matters with Pastor Jason Young, director of the Family Vision Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes (The Little Sisters Appeal to the Supreme Court, Planned Parenthood Gives $20 Million to Hillary Clinton’s Campaign, Jeb Bush Endorses Ted Cruz for the Republican Nomination) 2. The internet has introduced some amazing opportunities for family economies. We interview Bryan Young from ProfitSourcing.com on developing a market for internet sales. This program includes: 1. Christian family groups are fighting tooth-and-nail against a program that would assign a state guardian for every child in Scotland. They are taking this case to the UK Supreme Court. This introduces a discussion on sphere sovereignty, first framed by Abraham Kuyper who saw the state encroaching upon the family sphere. We interact with a Pathos article, “Killing the Church with Sunday School.” Is the problem Sunday school, or is the problem an inoculation because of a too minuscule dose? When parents give their children 45 minutes of churchy stuff and 45 hours of secular education per week, guess where the average kid is heading . . . . This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Little Sisters’ Big Day in the Supreme Court, Barack Obama Agrees with Castro on Socialism, Pastor in Guatemala Assassinated) 2. The Jerry Sandusky scandal and the Penn State fiasco are impacting the entire state of Pennsylvania. It’s an integrity bust. Several Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices have resigned their positions for lack of personal integrity and sexual “indiscretions.” The leading candidates for president don’t give us much more confidence. Does the prophet Micah define the situation correctly when he says the godly have perished from off the earth? Are the religious leaders doing much better? If repentance begins in the household of God, what would that look like? This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Four Wycliffe Translators Killed by Terrorists, Burma’s Anti-Conversion Laws Oppress Christians, “Miracles from Heaven” Hits #3 in Weekend Box Office Receipts) 2. The NCAA is being pressured to boot Christian colleges who maintain a biblical position on homosexuality. Meanwhile, the administration is pushing the homosexual lifestyle internationally via ambassadors assigned to nations such as the Dominican Republic. Bills like SB-200 in Colorado threaten a year in jail for placing a Bible in a bookstore or hotel room. What now? Boldly proclaim a last-ditch message: repent or perish. Seek cleansing from all forms of sexual sin by way of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Georgia Legislature Acts to Protect Churches, Australia Forces Immunizations on Families, Conservative Christian Leaders Consider Third-Party Run) 2. Why does Ben Carson endorse Donald Trump for president? How about Jerry Falwell, Jr.? They give their reasons, and we weigh them on this edition of the program. Cheeseburgers, disingenuousness, pragmatism—and principles? Falwell makes the point that David was an adulterer and a murderer, but it seems that David was repentant and asked God for forgiveness. This program includes: 1. Since 1970, Islamic terrorism and wars exploded on just about every continent. Was this the first time in history, or does Islam represent a tradition of violence and militaristic domination? Contemporary thinkers are pretty sure that man is on the cusp of breaking through in the evolutionary process—developing machines that are smarter than man. The moment of singularity is supposed to happen in 2045 A.D. Now they’re asking questions: Will the singularity mean the death of religion? Will the ontological argument fail when an intelligence refuses to allow for the possibility of God? These are deep questions and powerful arguments, but we smash them into oblivion once and for all on this program. You have a powerful apologetic for God. Use it! This program includes: 1. The World View in Five Minutes with Adam McManus (Dominican Pastors Want U.S. Homosexual Ambassador Out, Puerto Rico Tosses Obergefell Out, Putin Is Pulling Russian Troops Out of Siberia) 2.
