A Copernican Revolution in Education

June 4, 2010
Biblical Education vs. Aquinas Some school districts in this country now "send more kids to prison, than through college!" But where's the problem? Are we still not spending enough money on education? What can salvage the inexorable decline of character in a nation? Kevin Swanson insists now is the time to begin considering a Copernican revolution in the way we think about education. At the least, Christians should be open to the education methodology defined by the Bible in contrast with the secularist view.

Al Gore's Global Warming and Marital Cooling So what's the connection between homosexuality and the weakening of the moral fiber of a nation? And what in the world does divorce have to do with ecology? Contrasting Al Gore's Global Warming and Marital Cooling Crises, Kevin Swanson points out how man always goes after the wrong problems, and in the end destroys his marriages, his empires, and the environment too. Either we'll learn to govern our world by God's law or we will destroy it.

Kevin Swanson interviews three young men (18-20 years of age) who are in the process of growing into maturity - becoming men in a day where 70% of young men are NOT grown up by 30 years of age (up from 30% in 1970). Joshua, Jack, and James talk to the spiritual and character issues they confront as they mature into men of God.

How Global Warming Ruined Science Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. E. Calvin Beisner on the pseudo-science that created the global warming scare and the subsequent fall-out. Is the reputation of science forever damaged in the eye of the public? And how did the post-modern worldview redefine the way the modern world does science? But more importantly, how will we rebuild a rational form of scientific enquiry for the next 100 years?

More Confirmations of Creation Amazingly, the more scientists discover about the universe, the harder time they have fitting their findings into evolutionary hypotheses! This is especially true with research into the Genome and human DNA. After a century of arguing that the Neanderthal man was unrelated to humans, finally evolutionists are forced to admit that creationists were right all along. DNA testing has confirmed that Neanderthals were humans! Here Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Jay Wile on recent discoveries in human and animal DNA. The research is taking a chainsaw to Darwin’s Evolutionary Tree!

Democracy vs. Theocracy vs. Ecclesiocracy? Do Christians believe in democracy, theocracy, or ecclesiocracy? Those who assert the authority of God over all things, pretty much have to accept theocracy as the best form of government. What does this mean for democracy? And does theocracy mean that the church rules over the civil government? Issues of church and state are discussed in this interview with Gary Demar from American Vision, on this edition of Generations.

Home Grown Nurture Kevin Swanson interviews Tom Bushnell from CHASK and NATHHAN, organizations dedicated to supporting families blessed with children with special needs. Two approaches are discussed here - State Intervention and Institutionalization on the one hand and Home-Grown Love and Discipleship on the other. The two worldviews produce distinctly different results. In this interview, Tom Bushnell gives some wonderful encouragement, guidance, and comfort to families who have been blessed with a severely-disabled child.

Will My Daughter Marry a Slouch? Why do homeschooling moms come home to prepare daughters to leave home? There's a well-loaded, but important socio-economic question for the day! The obvious answer is: because 70% of young men aren't grown up by 30 years of age (up from 30% in 1970). But there's more to it than that. Social pressures on families today are incredibly tough – much tougher than it was in the 1970s. Of course, women will try to salvage whatever is left of our social systems. Meanwhile, the Episcopalians are ordaining lesbian bishops, marking another milestone in the slide into Gomorrah. In the midst of all of this, there are some attempts afoot to reestablish a biblical socio-economic order.

State, Federal and International Stress Points A recent Supreme Court decision on Juvenile Crime again subjects America to international law. A local state government embraces more of the Rousseau-ian vision for children. And, the Swedish government engages in Nazi or Communist-like behavior with a family seeking freedom there. Mike Donnelly from HSLDA joins us on Generations, as we lay out the present battlelines in the war for FREEDOM!

Family-Integrated Music How do you get from “My Grandfather's Clock” as the #1 song in the nation in 1880 to “My Mother is Female Dog” in 2010? Radical generational severence. But how would you know if you had successfully reintegrated the generations in culture or music? Kevin Swanson answers the question - when little 3 year old Joey and his 18 year old brother and his 48 year old father and 92 year old grandfather can enjoy the same music in the same concert (or the same church) together! Pop culture radically segregated the generations in revolutionary patricide over the last three generations, but there are efforts afoot to reintegrate the family in music. Kevin Swanson interviews folks from the gospel grass genre in this edition of Generations.

How Do They Get all Those Brains in Jars? Each year, tens of thousands of bureaucrats plan out the culture, the education, the social systems, and the politics of future generations through conferences, academies, policy institutes, and high-falutin' academic publications. In this eye-opening view into education bureaucracy, you will get a truly frightening picture of the gigantic tax-funded engines that create the modern Orwellian state. Dr. Brian Ray reviews the agenda of the American Educational Research Institute and their impact on the masses.
