Jesus' Temptations Part 3

January 15, 2010
Jesus came in human form so he could demonstrate to us how we can also be victorious over all sin and temptation just like he did. The same way God was with Jesus He is with us to make us victorious every step of the way. Why then do so many Christians live defeated?

Jesus experienced what we experience in our human body. Jesus had no need of baptism, however we must understand that it was symbolic for all those who were to be part of the new creation. It was also a public declaration that Jesus’ baptism was to represent an inward and outward manifestation of God’s righteousness and that the spiritual and material world was being re-created.

The person of Jesus was a very unique individual but so are each one of us. Many tend to only emphasis his deity and minimize his humanity. The same is true of those on the other extreme of the pendulum, they only refer to his humanity without giving proper credit to his divinity. What merit would there be if Jesus' humanity had an advantage and didn't experience the same things we go through? The truth is that he was a human being living with all the human limitations and temptations just like all of us but without sin. He came to show us that it is possible to free ourselves from the control of sin with God's help.

Just as the embodiment of God in Christ Jesus was necessary to accomplish redemption so it is with the new birth in Christ which gives the individual the fullness of God to carry on God’s will for this world. We will do well to carefully review and pay close attention to the teachings and actions of Jesus as they are revealed in the gospels in order for us to understand the embodiment of God in human flesh and to do likewise.

Christ, as the Incarnation of God was revealing that the Kingdom of God begins with the transformation of the person from the inside out in order to do the exceptional work of God and the expansion of His social Kingdom. The individual has to be born again by the Spirit of God in order to become the new person and thus become the embodiment of God as well. The Word became flesh so we could become the Word.

The good news of the Kingdom of God began the moment Jesus took on flesh in Mary’s womb and God became part of creation. Mary not only acknowledged and glorified the workings of God in and through her life, but she also recognized the new chapter in human history. Every true believer should experience that same knowing in their spirit.

It is important that we have an in-depth comprehension of the meaning of the “offspring of the woman” (Genesis 3:15). This was to be the seed of Abraham (Genesis 22:18), Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14), which means God with us, and the stone that was cut out not by human hands which Daniel mentions (2:34). In each one of these references God was revealing His embodiment in the person of Jesus Christ, the incarnate deity.

The teaching that Christ needs to return for all things to be subject to Him is in error. God revealed to Daniel that the kingdom of Christ smites the kingdoms of this world. The stone hits the legs that represent the Roman Empire; Jesus, the stone, was born during the time of the Roman Empire. God revealed that he was going to set up a kingdom that would fill the earth as the stone becomes a "great mountain." (Daniel 2:31-45). A gradual progress to victory has been taking place throughout history.

The history of the chosen people was one of continually rebelling against the Creator-God who is Righteous, nonetheless God continued to use them to carry out His will. Throughout centuries the prophets declared to Israel the future Messianic Kingdom and the fulfillment of God’s promises; of the good news of blessings to all the nations under the government of His Christ. This holds true until today. God does offer solutions to all of the social chaos we are living in which only threatens to get worse. The outcome is up to us by the choices we make.

We have seen from the beginning of creation how God’s goal was to establish a new social order in spite of Satan’s determination to alter or destroy that plan by introducing his evil culture. Even though Adam and Eve accepted Satan’s lies that they could develop their lives and civilization by implementing their own laws and morality (Genesis 3:5); this did not mean God lost.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
