Dr. Benjamin Carson Stands Up to Obama Part 16

March 12, 2013
Dr. Carson reminds his audience that the Roman Empire destroyed itself from within. Why is it so important that we educate our people? Because we don’t want to go down the pathway as so many pinnacle nations that have preceded us. He said. "I think particularly about ancient Rome. Very powerful. Nobody could even challenge them militarily, but what happened to them? They destroyed themselves from within. Moral decay, fiscal irresponsibility. They destroyed themselves. If you don’t think that can happen to America, you get out your books and you start reading, but you know, we can fix it."

In 1831 Alexis de Toqueville came to study America. The Europeans were fascinated. How could a fledgling Nation, barely 50 years old already be competing with them on virtually every level. This was impossible. De Toqueville was going to sort it out and he looked at our government and he was duly impressed by the three branches of government – he  looked at our educational system and he was blown away to see that anybody who had finished the second grade was completely literate. He was clearly telling Obama and the nation, we had it right back then.

Dr. Carson's message is very vital and related to our daily lives.  People are beginning to see that there is nothing to fear about this political machinery.  It is a breath of fresh air to see people like Dr. Benjamin Carson who are courageous enough to stand up to the bullies.

Can you imagine the tremendous cultural turn around if parents saved their children from our government schools? We could support candidates that would cut funding for public schools. It is not morally right for people to be forced to pay for someone else’s children’s education unless they choose to. By not paying this taxes, families could afford homeschooling for their children.

What is the right perspective of education? Do Christians truly realize what they are doing to their children when they send them to public schools? The wrong education doesn't liberate it enslaves.   For four centuries, religion, morality, and knowledge formed the core elements of American education, but in recent decades, a secularized approach to education has gained prominence. The non public schools approach is not popular with the majority of Christians. But are they willingly placing their children in the "lion's  mouth" to be devoured?

Dr. Carson said, “I’m very passionate about education because it’s made such a big difference in my life. But here we are at a time in the world, the information age, the age of technology, and yet 30% of people who enter high school in this country do not graduate. 44% of people who start a four-year college program do not finish it in four years." This clearly shows that the worldview implemented in education makes all the difference.

Thomas Jefferson’s phrase “separation of church and state” has been misused by activist against the biblical foundation of America: judges, Marxist organizations camouflaged as hard-core pro America without biblical Christianity’s influence in society. They all use the phrase that originates from a letter which Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut January 1, 1802 addressing their concerns. If one does not know the entire truth in the letter’s background it is impossible to understand exactly why Jefferson wrote it.  Those who distort this phrase with a mean twist or just plain evil intentions have derailed America.

Carson emphasized that one of the most important pillars of our foundation was education.  The leftists know this and have done their level best to distort what Thomas Jefferson did for education when he established the University of Virginia as a trans-denominational university saying he established it strictly as a secular institution which is false.  Lies have been permeating our cultural and it has impacted all of us very negatively.  It's high time to do something about that?

Alexis de Toqueville, a french statesmen, said the following about America upon his extended visit here: “The sects [denominations] which exist in the United States are innumerable. They all differ in respect to the worship which is due from man to his Creator, but they all agree in respect to the duties which are due from man to man. All the sects preach the same moral law in the name of God….[A]lmost all the sects of the United States are comprised within the great unity of Christianity, and Christian morality is everywhere the same.” Is it possible for America to go back to this foundation?

The liberal humanistic trend that came into the educational system here in America in the latter part of the 19th Century has only increased in intensity to the point that most people automatically associate secularism with our academic institutions.  However, it was not always that way.  Education in America was never secular. Biblical principles were the cornerstone and synonymous with a good quality education.  How did we go so long?

Education is important but education for educations sake is not good; it makes all the difference on what ethics education is based upon.  We have never had so many people with higher education in this country and elsewhere, is the world better? Clearly education from God's perspective upon biblical truth is what makes the difference.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
