Biblical Christianity can Never be Defeated Part 3

March 30, 2016
Two thousand years of Christian biblical history corroborates the influence of God’s people, and it’s promised to increase not decrease. Even after two millennia, people still find it hard to believe and accept what Jesus accomplished on the cross, that will not diminish His marvelous work to redeem us and His creation. Any attempts to defeat or minimize the impact of Christ's work will always fail.

Without the destruction of sin and death by Christ at the cross and His resurrection there would be no hope for humanity. There is no other in all of history capable of redeeming humanity. The cross was a high price for Christ to pay to pull us out of self-destruction and darkness. People can deny this all they want but it doesn't change the truth. We many failures in history that will remind us of this.

In most parts of the world, Christianity is under attack. These attacks vary from genocide to incarceration, limiting the freedom to express their faith, smothering and pushing it out of existence by secularism or humanism, to the very real attacks by institutionalized Christianity. Without a doubt, biblical Christianity has many enemies. Here in the USA is no exception, even though Christianity is the foundation of this country and the reason for liberty and progress, the attacks are increasing in efforts to crush Christianity and put it out of existence. Can Christianity ever be eradicated?

Is Jesus a divider? He certainly is. When we chose His way it will separate us from a mere earthly purpose for our lives. The only thing that Satan can offer humans is unhappiness and eternal hell. It is our choice to be with or against Christ and the kingdom of God. To say that Jesus is the divider makes perfect sense. For Christ’s disciples, life here on earth is in no way a contrast with the one to come for all eternity, it wasn’t for Jesus, and it is not for His people. Life has only one perspective and we must embrace it here and now and what awaits us after our earthly physical death.

Jesus made an astounding statement in Matthew 10:38 "And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me". Why did He mention the cross to the disciples? At that time the Roman Empire was dominating Israel; everyone was aware of the Roman death penalty by crucifixion. The condemned criminal had to carry the cross to the place of execution. Taking up the cross involves the willingness to put one's life on the line if need be. He was making them aware that to follow Him would become dangerous. The rejection of Him by the Jewish leaders would make their lives uncomfortable even to the point of physical death. Introducing the Good News of the Kingdom of God would confront the ungodly cultures and they would feel threatened. Conflict is unavoidable with those who are opposed to God’s plan.

Was Jesus minimizing the family unit when He said that if any one loves family more than they love Him they are not worthy of Him? No, Jesus did not open the door for people to be irresponsible to their family. What He was saying is that our dedication and responsibility to the family should not compromise our commitment to God and Jesus.

The whole world always craves peace. The truth is that, individuals who lack the peace of God in Christ do create conflicts of all sorts. These include those who say they are believers, but when the fruit of their life is examined, they are found wanting. Persecution against the followers of Christ is also the outcome of those who reject the message. What causes wars between nations? Conflicts of interest found in the heart. Jesus is the only one that can bring transformation of the heart when people allow Him and live by His principles.

Nowadays we hear much about how divided we are as a nation as if it was such a great revelation or a recent occurrence. Social division has been part of humanity since the dawn of history. Societies reach their highest level of unrest when the divide is not resolved with lasting solutions that are acceptable to all. It is virtually impossible to arrive at an agreement when opposite views are entrenched. Even though it is tough to achieve a good level of social balance, it is not an impossible task. So, if these divisions have been with us always, why do we say that they are not impossible to solve?

The fall of man didn’t stop God’s original plan for the human race and the world. In Gen. 3:15 He gave the assurance of the coming salvation. From that moment on God’s people looked towards the future with great anticipation. After Jesus' finished work, we look back on that day and with confidence we engage to do God’s will on earth as it is in heaven. Believing God is the key. Over 2 billion Christians believe in the existence of God, but the majority does not believe Him. No matter what anyone may say, America can never be great again with full liberty and the blessings everyone seeks without returning to God’s law.

The Pilgrims and Puritans, early on in America, established the central idea for the individuals to enjoy the freedom of self-government under God’s law. Biblical civil laws were written to punish and contain evil behavior, to be the source of justice for all, to protect life, liberty and property. As Christians, they were exposed to God’s laws regularly from the pulpits. Would they pass the vetting process to run for office these days?

The idea of the Founding Fathers of America was never that the civil government would be centralized, big and controlling. The founders dreaded for that to happen; they put checks and balances so no one could have the ultimate power, not even the people, and the country could always defend itself from despots and tyrants. Israel of old wanted centralized civil government like the pagan nations had and they requested this from God (1 Samuel 8). As a result Israel lost rights due to big government. This is the very reason the founders were not seeking to establish an imperial form of government. They trusted and relied upon the people and future generations to continue with the principles of God’s law to govern them to preserve enduring freedom, sadly, we have not.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
