Obey The Word
Luke 5:5-6. (NKJV)
5. But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."
6. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
Ours is not to reason, but to obey the Word of Lord. Just as Simon Peter could not understand what good it could possibly do to let down his nets one more time, there will be times in our lives when what the Lord says for us to do makes absolutely no sense at all. But like Simon Peter, we too must be willing to do what "thus saith the Lord"; we must be obedient to the Word of the Lord regardless of what we may see or think.
This scripture lets us know that faith, which is acting on God’s Word, is not something we can endeavor to understand with our minds. Faith will never make sense because faith does not make sense -- it makes faith! So, when it comes to God’s Word, you have to do like the famous commercial says and Just Do It! Then, as you are doing God’s Word regardless of what the circumstances may tell you, the physical manifestation of what you need will come.
