The Holy Spirit Guides You

Read

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. John 16:13

Reflect

Before starting out on a trip, I enter the destination in the GPS app on my phone and then proceed to the route. My GPS tells me how many miles to travel on a certain road, what exit to take, and how to get back on track when I take a wrong turn.

One night while traveling from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh on the PA Turnpike, my GPS told me to take a certain exit off the turnpike. I knew better, or so I thought, and ignored the instruction. Within five miles I was in the middle of a traffic jam due to an accident that had occurred. I was delayed several hours because I chose to ignore the instructions.

The Holy Spirit is the believer's internal GPS. He guides you to the right path and instructs you regarding exits and dangers ahead. When you choose to ignore His instructions you end up stalled or moving in the wrong direction.
