Know Him: Get Off Your "Can't"
Read Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)
And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Jesus was a Man on a mission. From sunup to sundown He healed the sick, cast demons out of people, and proclaimed that the day of liberation had come--absolute freedom from fear, from worry, from bad thoughts, from bad actions, from bitterness, from grief--from chasing after what the world claims is important.
The Creator walked with His creation. And with Him came restored hope and healed hearts. Through His miracles, He told the world, "I am God, and I have brought you eternal life." Jesus has commissioned us, too: We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. (See 2 Corinthians 5:20.) But as many of us have already discovered, our assignment to be a witness isn't easy. The Enemy hates for believers in Christ to become burdened for the world. He knows that they'll begin to pray, give, and even go to the ends of the earth to share the good news about Jesus Christ. So he'll do anything he can to divert our attention.
Keep in mind that Christ is greater than the Enemy. Christ has put the Holy Spirit inside of each Christian; and every minute of every day, if we let Him, He'll continue to teach, guide, protect, and above all, love us. Lord Jesus,
Lord Jesus, please give me a heart and a passion for evangelism. Open my ears and eyes to the lost and show me who I can reach. Give me the courage and the words that will open their eyes to Your love and grace.
