In the aftermath of tragedy, God is often seen as the bad guy. "Why Lord did you allow this to happen?" or "Lord, why won’t you take me out of this situation?" And what most people don’t see is that God has a better plan than shielding us or taking us out of difficulties. Instead, he wants to stand with us as we go through them. He wants to be our strength, or sufficiency, and our living hope. We see that in Pastor Steve’s examination of the church of Smyrna. It’s found in the second chapter of Revelation.
