Three Homeschooled Girls who Made a Difference

September 18, 2009
Salvaging Civilization
The fellows from Generations have a good laugh at the sting operation conducted by a homeschooled girl from Florida that brought ACORN down. Young women from homeschools are making an impact everywhere.
Yet all of this is still more duct tape on the Titanic. As we face the most serious generational apostasy we have seen in 2000 years, we’re not going to salvage the faith with a revamped Vacation Bible School program in the local church. We're not going to save the collapsing family in the west with a 20 minute family time on Friday night. And we're not going to save our Republic from a rapidly-growing socialism and the dissolution of family and freedoms with a hockey mom from Alaska who herself has a child with another child born out of wedlock.
Kevin Swanson talks real solutions for salvaging some kind of society for future generations. You do not want to miss this episode of Generations!

The Reduction of Christianity Christian parents send their kids to public school because they draw distinctions between parenting (discipleship) and education. What possible harm can the schools do to their minds, since the Christian faith has nothing to say about stuff like science, history, economics, or even education for that matter! Once you separate the fear of God from knowledge, you don't have to worry about what kind of "education" you give your kids! It's easy. Just separate character from math, the fear of God from science, and you're there. This reveals a fundamental flaw with the modern "Christian" faith that presages the complete loss of the faith. Kevin Swanson explains this dualism with several examples on this edition of Generations.

Launching a Family Economy The most significant social change in history occurred over the last 150 years. Dad left home. A huge corporate system took most fathers out of the home and helped to produce the unraveling of the nuclear family in the western world. Kevin Swanson interviews Wade Myers from New Venture Lab on how to launch a family economic venture. Wade is one of the nation's foremost experts on entrepreneurship and managing venture capital, developing the best business models, properly managing risks, and analyzing markets.

Unveiling ACORN and Planned Parenthood When people are involved in really bad business like stealing money and killing kids, it's really not that hard to show them for what they really are. This is what happens when James O'Keefe, Hannah Giles, and Lila Rose set up ACORN and Planned Parenthood for some pretty embarrassing criminal activities. When tempted to do bad things, bad people usually go for it every time, assuming they feel like they can get away with it. Kevin Swanson weighs in on the issue, and suggests that electing godly leaders might be a better strategy in the long run, over trying to sway the fickle public opinion, and get the liberal media to cover what you're doing.

On 9-11 as we watched the terrorist attacks on a civilian population America faced a crisis. The action we took in the aftermath revealed our true commitment to our core principles and our level of true fidelity to God. In spite of all the "In God we trust" bumper-stickers that were placed on bumpers, America instead placed their trust in a strong military and in a centralized government. It has been said never let a good crisis go to waste, that is exploit the unsettled emotions of the moment to get accomplished that which may be impossible to get accomplished when there is no perceived imminent threat. In crisis the righteous turn toward their sovereign creator, the unrighteous turn elsewhere. So far this year we have learned of the global warming crisis, the swine flu crisis, the credit in the markets crisis , the state budget shortfall crisis, the home foreclosure crisis and the year is not over yet. Perhaps the only real crisis is the lack of fear of God.

Will My Son Join the Armed Forces? Interacting with an insightful story from the Wall Street Journal entitled, "Babies Win Wars," Kevin Swanson points out that the humanist nations are in the process of destroying themselves by their existentialist, materialist birth implosions. Post-modern humanists have lost the will to perpetuate their civilizations. This leads to a discussion on whether we want our sons and daughters fighting for the republic on foreign soil. What would John Adams think about this? Kevin encourages involvement in the military for some of our young men, but issues a strong caution that they be well grounded in biblical principles relating to warfare.

Why We Don't Care about Evidence A listener needs a little more back-up evidence for our condemnation of socialist healthcare systems, so we provide it. But this leads to a discussion on the vacuous theory of ethical utilitarianism, and why we don't really care about evidence. You run a society on what works or what you think might work based upon three failed experiments in history, you will probably fail. Try running a society on the laws of God and see what will happen!

How to Really Mess Up Your Kid A public school math teacher in Oregon undergoes a sex change, where this guy Nick turns into Nicole. The principal calls it a teachable moment, so Kevin and Dave discuss a few other teachable moments your children might experience should they be attending the public schools. But, parents be warned! There are so many ways in which a parent might mess up their childrens perceptions of themselves, gender, sexuality, and other elements of God's creation. Kevin Swanson refers to several examples where a child is stumbled by a parent who is not careful to train him in God’s laws relating to cross-dressing and other issues. This program is especially important for parents who are right now raising children in a pretty messed-up world.

Interview: Al Mohler With the collapse of the faith in the western world (Europe and North America), and the simultaneous, temporary materialist-humanist rout of most developed countries, the future of Christianity is in the balance. Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Albert Mohler from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary on the "End of Christian America." How will we possibly salvage the faith in the west? His answer may surprise you, unless you have listened to this program - Fathers. Here is a powerful interview with one of the leading figures among those committed to digging in and fighting for a faithful remnant for Christ on this hemisphere.

Shepherding a Home or a Church If you read the Bible, you find that God seems more concerned about shepherds than he does about the politicians. In other words, He's more concerned with Ted Haggard than he is with a Barach Obama. But what's a good shepherd? Is it the corporate VP in the pin-striped business suit, the fellow in the pointy hat, the motivational speaker in the untucked polo, or the guy slopping around the barnyard in muddy boots? You will enjoy this practical interview on fathering, shepherding, or pastoring, with a pastor's pastor - Greg Thurston.
