Family Works

Family Businesses that Work! In a changing economy, it’s time to start thinking about family-based economic systems. Wade Myers from New Venture Lab has spent the last year crisscrossing the country with a video crew in search of families who have put together businesses that work. Take a front seat on this tour, and learn about how families have integrated business and family life. As we restructure a new socio-economic paradigm, it is critical that families learn effective business models, network into the marketplace, secure more market share by contract (and other means), all of which would allow for more mentorship and family integration in the business world.

Is this Really the "End of Men?" Atlantic Magazine declares "The End of Men," as society works its way over the precipice in many western countries. Men aren't working. Men aren't getting educated. As a rule, men are giving up. But is it really the end of civilization? Kevin Swanson interviews Randy Stinson, president of the Council on BIblical Manhood and Womanhood concerning the long standing effects of one hundred years of egalitarian thinking. Should Christians begin to seriously appy the ethical implications of God's social system, what could happen to our future families and churches? This powerful, visionary interview is one you don't want to miss!

72% of Americans Think So Before Sanger, Darwin, and Galton, there was Malthus, and the influence of Malthus upon the succeeding radicals that changed our world is undeniable. Now, the pervasive opinion among most Europeans and Americans is that the world is over-populated. This despite the fact that the population is only 6 times what it was 200 years ago, and 60X more productive! Kevin Swanson makes the connections from Malthus to the eugenics of Galton and Margaret Sanger of Planned Parenthood fame, in this segment of Generations.

Is College Worth It? Believe it or not, college admission costs are on a steep rise despite the most severe recession (and deflationary numbers) since the 1940s! Add to that, the rising unemployment number for college graduates, and lower starting salaries. Then, 49% of those with college degrees are working jobs not requiring a college degree. Guys like John Stossel call college the most over-priced and under-valued product on the market today. Rational people are asking if there is a better way to get through college and into the calling God has for them. Woody Robertson from College Plus adds a vitally important piece to this puzzle, as families try to work through these issues during challenging economic times. College Plus has saved 1,000 students about $27,000,000 over the last few years with a unique approach geared to save families valuable time and money. If there was ever a time for families to "think out of the box" when it comes to higher education, IT IS NOW!

Celebrating the Shame? When ABC, NBC, and CNN put fallen governors on their news talk shows, we wonder if they are celebrating the shame or just laughing at them. Did Nixon get his own national talk show? What would an empire look like – culturally, politically, economically – if it were breaking down? Kevin Swanson is really trying to build something out of the rubble, as he dinks around with the remnants of the western empires and assorted republics.

The History of Tyranny Two Supreme Court decisions will affect the future differently. It seems that freedom of speech is being curtailed, at least if you represent a Christian group on a college campus. On the subject of tyranny, Kevin Swanson spends concerted time on this broadcast outlining the government’s control of health care in America. It was a slow but steady process that began around 1910. The tentacles of government wrap slowly around the masses, and they hardly know it. But what will we leave for our children and our grandchildren? It’s time right now to talk about an island of freedom that is already developing and will be crucial for all of us by the year 2025.

What the Bible Says about Sex Ed Parents across the country are up in arms over the sorts of things taught in grade schools and junior highs, labelled as "Sex Ed." Kevin Swanson points out that parental rights has been a losing battle in the courts (since the 1980s) for those who send their children to public schools. Should your children witness for Jesus in Sex Ed classes, or just opt out altogether while you give them an education rooted in the fear of God?

Interview: Voddie Baucham A virtual family reformation is sweeping the nation, but as most people know the foundation of the family occurs when a young man marries a young woman. But what happens when 70% of young men are not grown up by 30 years of age, up from 30% in 1970 (per Newsweek magazine)? The average marriage age is shifting significantly, and evangelicals and homeschooling families are facing many of the same problems as the rest of the culture. Kevin Swanson interviews Voddie Baucham, the author of a new book, "What He Must Be, If He Wants to Marry My Daughter."

Wholesome. . . Defecation So Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana becomes the rage for 8-15 year old girls, as a pseudo-wholesome teen icon, even promoted by family-friendly Walmart. But what happens when the pop-cult machine exploits her along with millions of little girls that follow her with a soft-porn spread in Vanity Fair magazine? Just another Britney and Jamie Lynne in the making? These are the teen heroes that set the cultural standards for millions of little teenage girls. A whole lot of little girls want to look like and act like Miley. And then all the little teeny-bopper, Christian girls down at the local youth group seem to want to look like the rest of the girls, who want to look like and act like Miley Cyrus or Britney or Katy. To top it all off, don't forget that Britney, Miley, and Katy Perry come from nice "Christian" families. Kevin Swanson interacts with the culture in this segment of Generations.
