Visit us at Crosswalk.com! Our aim is to offer the freshest and most compelling biblically-based content to Christians who take seriously their relationship with Christ. Crosswalk.com is built around four primary content areas – Faith, Family, Fun and Community. Each category is further subdivided into areas of significance to many Christians, including Bible Study, Devotionals, Marriage, Parenting, Music, etc. Within this framework, we work hard to provide timely, relevant, life-enhancing material from qualified, respected Christian sources.

About Crosswalk: The Devotional

The editorial staff of the Salem Web Network is comprised of observant, talented believers who strive to honestly communicate the lessons they find at the intersection of faith and life via "Crosswalk.com: The Devotional." Monday through Friday of every week, we're proud to bring you both audio and text versions of what we hope are uplifting and inspirational takes on Bible verses and the wild ride that is this life.

About The Crosswalk.com Editorial Staff

Shawn McEvoy is the Managing Editor of Crosswalk.com. Shawn came to Salem in 2005 after completing his Master’s degree in writing from Virginia Commonwealth University and spending several years as a fantasy sports columnist and college admissions counselor. Shawn is a native Arizonan who studied Youth Ministry and English at Oklahoma Baptist University before making his way to the East Coast. He is married with two children, enjoys discussing pop culture through the lens of the Christian worldview, and aims to be all things to all men. Not an especially politically-minded believer, Shawn’s favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7, and his favorite authors include Max Lucado, Donald Miller, and John Eldredge.

Crosswalk.com Senior Editor Laura MacCorkle grew up in Texas, but don’t hold that against her.  Raised by Yankee parents, she was classically trained in piano for many years and now uses her musical powers for good by singing in a symphony chorus, as well as her church choir.  Though she didn’t always appreciate it at the time, she is extremely thankful her parents enrolled her in a Scripture memory program as a child.  Today, the Word she hid in her heart oh so long ago has not returned void and is enriching her life greatly.

Sarah Jennings, Crosswalk.com’s Family Editor, embraced faith in Christ at an unlikely phase in her life: as a skeptical undergraduate at Virginia Tech. She now enjoys putting her VT English degree to use at the Salem Web Network by observing and reflecting on cultural trends, marriage, family life, and the human condition through the lens of Christianity. After six years of working with relationship experts to publish encouragement and advice for families, Sarah is excited to tie the knot this November with her fiancé, Corey. When she’s not writing, editing or wedding planning, Sarah enjoys horseback riding and goofing around with her nieces and nephews.

Katherine Britton is Crosswalk.com’s news and culture editor. She monitors human rights issues, Christian persecution, and anywhere else faith and current events intersect. She received her B.A. in English from Grove City College, and returned to her hometown of Richmond to join Salem Web in 2008. In her spare time, Katherine and her husband wield all manner of power tools as they renovate their new, previously foreclosed home.

John UpChurch, editor of Jesus.org and BibleStudyTools.com, thinks every written word has the opportunity to share the gospel and equip followers of Christ. He also spends a great deal of time sorting through his own writings to figure out which words do that—and which are better deleted. With a background in English and creative writing (BA from the University of Tennessee) and several years experience at a para-church ministry prior to joining Salem, he seeks to explore the depth and richness of God’s Word as literature and as a beautiful, cohesive narrative of God’s grace.

Alex Crain is the editor of Christianity.com. While completing his M.Div. studies at The Master's Seminary (2003), Alex served as a staff editor and pastoral resident for family ministries at Grace Community Church in the Los Angeles area. He has subsequently served at various churches in the areas of teaching, outreach, small groups and worship ministries. In addition to writing and editing for Salem Web Network, Alex also serves as associate pastor at Grace Bible Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Stephen McGarvey is the editorial director of the Salem Web Network, and executive editor of Crosswalk.com. He has previously worked for BreakPoint with Chuck Colson, the Home School Legal Defense Assoc. and has been regular contributor to byFaith Magazine.
