Community: Why Me? | Hebrews 10:24-25 | Devotional
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
You cannot do community alone. The Christian life is to be lived together. We need each other. The church needs different gifts, personalities, and experiences in order to represent God well. When you are missing, you are missed.
The writer to the Hebrews drives the point home. We need to prod one another on. We need to encourage one another. We need to lead by example with our presence and service in the church.
So, here is my question: Do you know of someone who has checked out of church? Then give them a call! Let them know they are missed. Read today's passage to them. Remind them that there is no such thing as a Christian flying solo. Don't put off the call...until after they crash and burn.
Father, thank you for the church. May we be those who care enough to get involved in the lives of others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
