Gates of RefugeSunday, June 01, 2008Today’s message is both educational and spiritual. The six cities of refuge referred to in the Book of Joshua were places where, upon entering one of their gates, someone accused of a murder could find safety until his case could be heard. In a similar way, Jesus Christ represents our spiritual place of refuge when we are in need of love and protection and forgiveness. Join us now and honestly seek Him. Hosts of Wonderful Words of Life
The hosts on Wonderful Words of Life are all members of The Salvation Army. The speaker is Lt. Colonel Vern Jewett, Divisional Commander of the Florida Division. His life-long experience in ministering to others, as well as his preaching and teaching of the Scriptures is evident in the friendly and communicative style he brings to the microphone. Co-hosting the program is Major Willis Howell, Divisional Commander of the North and South Carolina Division. The guest co-host for this series is Major Vivian Childs, Director of Inter-Cultural Ministries for The Salvation Army Southern Territory. With much enthusiasm these two engage in dynamic dialogue as they share listeners’ feedback, personal stories, or guest interviews before previewing the message for the day.
