The biggest lie circulating today is that we will not be judged for sin. Somebody has to pay. As followers of Christ, we trust that the Lord Jesus already paid the penalty for our sins. So with the fear of the Lord, we tell others how they too can avoid God’s judgment. Don’t refuse God’s love! Turn instead to Jesus and, by faith, receive His gift of forgiveness.

When you list God’s character traits, don’t forget “mercy.” God is rich in mercy. In other religions, you must do, do, do to satisfy or appease some god. Instead of requiring a long list to please God, Christianity says, “Done.” What God in Christ did for us is complete. We are “in Christ,” meaning we are now complete in Him. What an encouraging passage to study!

God’s heart for the human family is for everyone to be saved and come to the knowledge of God. God takes no pleasure in anyone’s death—but it is our choice. But someday, every knee will bow to Jesus.
