God’s Divine Timing
Now while Peter wondered within himself what this vision which he had seen meant, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate. And they called and asked whether Simon, whose surname was Peter, was lodging there.
Acts 10:17-18
Cornelius’ company was arriving at the gate. This delegation of Gentiles was directed by the Lord to be at the right place at the right time, because at the very same instant, a word of knowledge was given to Peter about the three men who were looking for him outside: While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you. Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them” (Acts 10:19-20). God’s timing is perfect!
What was God doing through His Spirit? He was preparing Peter to go and speak with Cornelius’ men. Notice, Peter did not need to know every single detail about the situation at that very moment. He just needed to be obedient to the Lord, without any hesitation or question, and go meet these Gentiles, by faith. God’s plan was unfolding with each step of the way.
When God leads our lives, he may not give us a vision to direct us; but through our circumstances and situations, He is unfolding His plans with every step we take. Primarily, God will speak to us through His Word. We may not see the full picture, but God desires that we obey His directions. We must learn to trust His voice and act without hesitation or question.
In sharing the Gospel, I have found that God connects different people together. He causes us to cross paths with those who need to hear the Gospel message. God’s divine timing is perfect. There really are no coincidences. Be aware of what God is doing and be led by His Spirit to share the Gospel with others as He opens the doors.
Share the Gospel. According to the Bible, it is every believer’s privilege and responsibility to share the Gospel. If we understand what lies ahead for those who do not know Christ, there will be a sense of urgency in our witness.
