Human beings are created to follow. We follow ideas. We follow trends. We follow without even being aware that we are following. What if someone could shine a light into our hearts so we could clearly know what motivates us as we follow? Jesus wants to be that light. Jesus wants to be our influence. Jesus said, “Follow me.”

As we follow Jesus we will live for him. Sometimes this might bring pain. But the blessing that awaits us will far outweigh any temporary discomfort. The disciples followed Jesus out on the Sea of Galilee. They found themselves in a raging storm with waves crashing over their boat. But they also found something else. They cried out, “What kind of man is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” As we
follow Jesus we will find ourselves uttering these same words. Follow Jesus.
