Call on Jesus’ Name to Be Saved!

“’The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ ”
Acts 2:20-21

During the Tribulation period, there will be a great earthquake causing volcanic eruptions all over the earth. Large amounts of ash and debris will be blown into the earth’s atmosphere blacking the sun and giving the moon a blood-red hue (Revelation 6:12).

People have never seen anything like this before, but it will happen. I believe, those trying to survive these terrible days are going to wish they were not living on planet earth. There will never be a day like this in earth’s history again. These days will be so terrible that they will be shortened. Can you believe that?

In the midst of God’s judgment and wrath upon the earth, there is still opportunity to receive salvation. For anyone feeling hopeless, fearful, and like they have no escape from what is happening, God’s grace is still available. All they need to do is call on the name of the Lord. Salvation is freely given to those who, by faith, call upon Him.

The word call in the Greek Language means “to invoke.” On your behalf, you make an appeal to God for help. As a sinner, you now recognize and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and call on His name for salvation: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Interestingly, the name Jesus in the Hebrew language is Yehoshua or Joshua meaning “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation.” Jesus’ name also means “to deliver; to rescue.” The name Christ means “Messiah,” the “Anointed One.” Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God. Do you need Jesus to rescue you from your sins and deliver you from a sinner’s eternal destination in the lake of fire? Then call on His name!

Since no man is excluded from calling upon God the gate of salvation is open to all. There is nothing else to hinder us from entering, but our own belief.
