Foreseeing the Future

“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.”
Acts 2:29-31

If you go down to Jerusalem, David’s bones are still buried. They can be uncovered in his tomb, but you cannot find the bones of Jesus. He was the Son of God! Christ was greater than King David or His son Solomon. Jesus came from David’s lineage. God told David there would be a greater King on his throne––Jesus––the King of kings and Lord of lords (1Timothy 6:15).

Jesus did not go through the process of decay and worms. He was wrapped like a mummy and placed in a tomb. When the women came to anoint HIs body, they saw the wrapping, but no body. He had risen from the dead. They were excited! The women were the first ones to preach the Gospel of the risen Christ (Mark 16:1-10).

If the account of Jesus’ Resurrection was false, we would have no hope. We might as well burn our Bibles and do whatever we want, and then afterwards, just die. There would be no heaven and hell.

So many people believe when you die that is it. In the Catholic church, it is taught a person can have a second chance in purgatory––not so. There is no such place. There is no use in praying for the dead. It is not a doctrine found in the Bible. Let me say this: “Once you die, that is it!” You either go to heaven or hell.

The decision for Christ is made in this life; it is too late in the next. As a living soul, you and I can accept or reject the love of God. We make a choice in where we shall spend all of eternity.

Jesus Christ does not save the worthy, but the unworthy.
Your plea must not be righteous but guilt.
