Death Has No Hold on Christ

“For David says concerning Him: ‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’ ”
Acts 2:25-28

The Apostle Peter preached boldly, backing up everything scripturally, by using the Old Testament Scriptures. King David was not afraid to die, because he knew there was life after death. Before Jesus was born, David mentioned in the book of Psalms about Jesus’ Resurrection, 500 years before it happened. Christ’s Resurrection is written in prophecy: For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One [Christ] to see corruption (Psalm 16:10).

Listen, the moment you die, either good angels or evil angels––demons–– will carry you to heaven or hell. I have experienced people dying in hospitals. I have seen believers facing death in peace and joy. They anticipate heaven. Often they will say, “He is here.”

Some of those who do not know Christ remain stubborn and rebellious to the very end. They die cussing, as they refuse to accept Christ as Savior. They enter eternity without any eternal hope. As they are dying, on occasion I hear people say, “Please cool my feet; they are burning.” Heaven and hell are real. Hell is a place of torment, heaven a place of comfort. We need to pray for our loved ones and friends, because really, how many of them do not believe in heaven or hell?

In Mark 16:1-8, Mary attested to the Resurrection after seeing an angel who said to her: “He is risen! He is not here” (Mark 16:6). I have been to Jerusalem; the tomb were Jesus was laid is empty––I could not find Him. Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and the Prince of Life (Acts 3:15). He has come to give you eternal life! If you want eternal life, then you need to forsake your sin and give your life to Him. Better to weep in repentance now than to weep in hell for all eternity.

Conversion is a turning onto the right road.
The next thing to do is walk on it.
