Love One Another

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
John 13:35

As Christians, we need to show the love of Jesus Christ for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Jesus told us that people will know we are His disciple through the love we have for one another. I hope that you do not have to constantly tell people that you are a Christian. I hope they can easily recognize it.

What about showing love to those who do not know Christ? Those whom you go to school with, and your neighbors, those living next door to you? They are often hurting human beings who are lost in their sin. Others are–wicked people living a life in spiritual darkness. Yet God loves them. He has poured into us His goodness, love and mercy so that we can become shining lights to those living in the dark. We can reflect Christ’s love to them. They can tell we are Christians.

We need to be a good witness by showing the love of Christ to our neighbors. The love of God is a selfless, giving love, it is not self-seeking and is never self-centered. The Christian life is not just sitting in the pew each Sunday. As believers study, we become equipped to share with others. We need to learn it here in the classroom, and take it out to the world. We become His messengers.

Have you put to practice what you have learned? Have you shared the Gospel in places where it is most needed––in real life? This is where it is needed. The reality of living in this world is pretty tough. Can we be compassionate? Jesus was so compassionate toward sinners. Pray to become more like Jesus Christ. There is much you and I must do because we are called to active duty in helping to tend to the needs of hurting people living in this lost world. That is the active love of God.

To have found God and still to pursue Him is the souls’ paradox of love.
