Repentance to Life

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”
Acts 11:18

Peter stopped speaking, and his words finally sank into the hearts of his Jewish brethren. They understood that the Gentiles had received the gift of the Holy Spirit and repentance to life. What life? The Jews knew the Gentiles were given the opportunity to receive eternal life. Think about these key Scriptures because they reveal God’s plan of eternal life. Let these truths really sink down into your heart and soul:

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 17:3: “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

John 3:36: “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

1 John 5:11-12: And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

I hope you have personally understood these Scriptures. You either have eternal life through Jesus Christ, or you do not. Without Christ, you do not have eternal life, and you will perish in your sin. Jesus warned the self-righteous Pharisees who did not believe He was the Messiah: “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24).

Why reject Jesus and perish in your sin? The Bible is the road map of life. Read the books of the Bible and know the stories in the Old Testament, because they are always pointing you to the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Jesus Messiah, name above all names, blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel, the rescue for sinners, the ransom from Heaven, Jesus Messiah, Lord of all.
