Measured Grace

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
Ephesians 4:7

God’s grace is available to everyone, but not everybody accepts God’s grace. When a person repents and receives God’s grace, He gives to them a measured grace according to His will and their spiritual gifting.

Satan constantly attacks the work of grace in the life of a believer. Some Christians become tormented by Satan when he places thoughts in their minds that God will not forgive them for a sin they have committed. They are out of the reach of grace. Satan twists the Scriptures. He loves to deceive and condemn people. Some Christians believe his lies!

At times, I have come across some Christians who look very depressed. I ask them, “Why are you so depressed?” They sadly respond, “I have committed the unpardonable sin.” Once again, Satan has used a familiar tactic of deception to condemn them.

I reason with these believers because if they are sitting among the congregation, hearing the Word of God, feeling conviction when God speaks to them, then they have not committed the unpardonable sin! As long as there is conviction in a person’s life, there is no possible way they have committed the unpardonable sin.

What is the unpardonable sin? This is when a person continually rejects God’s love. They resist the knowledge, truth and grace of God. A person can say no to God’s salvation too many times! God honors their decision, and they cross a fine line. Never again will they have an opportunity to accept Christ. When they sin, there is no longer any conviction (Matthew 12:31-32). God forgives all manner of sin, except the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Thank God for the conviction of the Holy Spirit and for God’s grace! It is good to feel guilty for sin; conviction leads to repentance.

Revival is a renewed conviction of sin and repentance, followed by an intense desire to live in obedience to God. It is giving up one’s will to God in deep humility.
