Walk Worthy of Your Calling

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1-3

Paul had already taught the Ephesian believers who they were in Christ––spiritually rich. He now placed great emphasis on their Christian walk. There has to be a consistency in their walk. The Christian life is compared to a walk, because every Christian’s first step is a step of faith.

In our Christian walk, we are to be soldiers. We face a spiritual battle every day! However, there is no need to fear our enemy––Satan. The Bible tells us God’s ...perfect love casts out fear... (1 John 4:18). Remember, we are children of the light. Light is greater than darkness. In the name of Jesus Christ, we have power to rebuke the enemy.

Walking with God involves progress. It demands balance and strength in order for us to grow to spiritual maturity. If we do not learn to walk, then how shall we be able to run or stand against the wiles of the devil in the battle ahead of us? Meditate for a moment on these Scriptures:

Ephesians 5:2: And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Ephesian 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

Ephesian 5:15: See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise....

Consider your walk with Christ. Are there some of these qualities missing? If you obediently apply these important truths by faith to your life, you can walk victoriously in Christ.

...God put us on this journey called life. We came from Him, and our greatest joy will come from giving ourselves back to Him and learning to walk with Him every day until we return to Him.
