God is Able
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21
Paul concluded Ephesian 3 with a beautiful benediction. Christians need to be aware of the love of God. His love is limitless. Can you imagine how rich we are because of His love, grace, mercy and peace?
We must not live the Christian life in our own power, but in God’s. It must be His dunamis power that is working in us and through us. The word dunamis is the root word for our English word “dynamite.” Christ’s dynamite power resides in us: But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us (2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV). His power gives us the ability to accomplish anything; yet apart from Christ we can do nothing (John 15:5).
It was the Apostle Paul who said: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). Paul knew where his strength came from, and despite his weaknesses, he accomplished incredible things for God. When Paul pleaded with God to remove his infirmity, God told him: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul came to understand God’s power and surrendered to His will:
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Imagine what God can do with a life fully submitted and surrendered to Him. I pray God would touch, anoint, and use your life. May God’s power work in you to reach your community, friends and family. May, they, too, come to know the unsearchable riches of Christ.
Our high and privileged calling is to do the will of God in the power of God for the glory of God.
