Future Exceeding Riches
...that in the ages to come He [God] might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:7-9
In the future in ages to come, God, throughout all eternity, will be showing us the blessings of His riches. Can you imagine! It is too far beyond my finite mind to comprehend. Forever in eternity, God, in His kindness, will demonstrate His blessings and riches to us as children of God, all because of our position in Christ!
We are saved by grace through faith. It is not of us, because faith is a gift of God. As we have called upon God, we are given saving faith. Nobody can earn their salvation through good works. People try to be saved by church membership or giving to the poor. Some believe they are saved through their parent’s faith––not so. Salvation is individual; every person has to come to the place of knowing their sinfulness and realizing they are in a position of being under the judgment of God. Repentance is needed.
People are saved through repentance, but what are they being saved from? Sin, yes, but they are also saved from the wrath of God that will destroy them. Romans 1:18 tells us: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness....
Understand, God is the One who has allowed us to come to a place to receive His grace and mercy. Salvation is a gift. No man can boast in their salvation because they could never attain it. It is God who should receive all the glory for our salvation. Think about it. We all deserve hell, but God has given us heaven!
If you do not know Jesus as Savior, make a decision to acknowledge your sin, repent, and receive Christ.
The Saint’s enduring riches are in the future, locked up in the heavenly casket.
