No Laughing Matter
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Noah was a preacher of righteousness, and people laughed at his message (2 Peter 2:5). They failed to believe it was going to rain and flood until it happened. Today, people laugh at preachers who teach about the Rapture. They laugh and say, “Oh, come on.” Really, you are all going to disappear?” “What does the Rapture even mean?” But the Rapture is no laughing matter. One day, the Rapture is going to happen.
The word Rapture is not found in the Bible, but the phrase caught up is. In the Greek language caught up is the word harpazo meaning “to seize,” “to snatch,” or “to take away by force.” If you decided to play a joke on your loved ones by leaving food cooking on the stove, and a pile of clothes you were wearing on the floor, and hid, what would they think? They might think the Rapture had happened and would be beside themselves––screaming.
However, when the Rapture does happen, that will be no laughing matter. When the Lord comes for His Church––His Bride––those who know the truth of God’s Word, but were not ready, will know they have been left behind and they are going to freak out! They will see that their loved ones and friends are gone. Most likely, the news media will say aliens came and took them away––not so. The truth is the Rapture happened, and people who were not ready, were left behind!
Think about the chaos. Christians who were driving cars, operating trains, or flying airplanes would all of a sudden be gone. Nobody would be flying the airplanes, driving the cars, or operating trains––they would all crash! There would be many accidents and deaths.
Imagine the fear, panic and terror as people who are left behind will face the worst time in earth’s history––the Tribulation Period.
The Savior is tenderly calling, don’t put off salvation too long.
