The Perils of Wickedness
....boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God....
2 Timothy 3:2-4
In the Last Days, people will become increasingly wicked. Paul gave a third description of godless people living in perilous times. There will be boasters, people who are full of arrogance. The word boasters actually means “a wanderer, a vagabond, and an imposter––an empty pretender.” People like this will walk around as if they own the world. They boast about very outlandish things. They are full of self, and love to show off. They puff themselves up, appearing to be so much better than anyone else; but, in reality, they are just blowing wind––exaggerating to the extreme.
The fourth character trait of people in the Last Days is they are proud. What sin caused Satan to be kicked out of heaven? Pride! The sin of pride will cause a person to fall and be humbled very quickly. What are the perils of pride?
Proverbs 16:18: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 11:2: When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.
Fifthly, people in the Last Days will become blasphemers. The word blasphemers means “railers.” They are very abusive and come against the teachings of Christ, being devoid of a relationship with Him. The next on the list is very prevalent these days––children who are disobedient to parents. They are rebellious, refuse to listen, and have no respect for their fathers or mothers. Some teenagers will become verbally abusive towards their parents. It will only get worse if the parents do not take back control and take the necessary disciplinary action to correct them.
Wicked people will on the day of judgment see all there is to see of Jesus Christ, except His beauty and loveliness.
