Unifying Love and Grace

Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. Grace be with you all. Amen.
Hebrews 13:24-25

At the end of Paul’s letter, he gave greetings to the leadership and the saints––the body of believers. His care and love for the Hebrew church were evident. Interestingly, he gave greetings from Italy, giving further insight that this letter was most likely penned by Paul. Notice the unified love and grace among all the churches. No matter how far away they were from each other, they were intimately connected by their Christian love for one another.

The final phrase, Grace be with all of you commits them to the unmerited favor of God. Amen. I love it! It was customary for Paul to finish his letter with the grace of God. This was so fitting, because previously as Saul–– before he changed his name to Paul––he was a tyrant under the law, seeking to kill Christians. But now he was at one with them, all because of the grace of God:

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).

In our church, Calvary Chapel Golden Springs, there is a unifying love and grace between those who rule over the church and the body of believers whom they serve. It also does not matter where our brothers and sisters are in the world––we are family––we are one in Christ. It is God’s unifying love and grace that knits us all together.

Surely, like Paul, we all stand before the Lord because of His amazing grace––Amen.

By the supernatural miracle of God's grace I stand justified, not because I am sorry for my sin, not because I have repented, but because of what Jesus has done.
