Independence Day
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”

In this time of history, the United States of America is a divided nation. Its freedoms are threatened by Socialism, Marxism and Communist philosophies, and along with America’s moral decline, we have a deeply divided country. In the future, if things do not change, we shall no longer be free. In the face of British tyranny, America won her freedom. Thirteen colonies united in their cause against the tyrannical rule of King George III and high taxation.
Every year on July 4, we are reminded of the high cost of that freedom. Although there were differences among the colonies, there was no division among them in the war against the British––a war that lasted about seven years. On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence. On September 3, 1783, a treaty was signed in Paris, whereby Britain agreed to recognize the sovereignty of the United States and formally end the war. Today, how should we stand? America needs to stand united––“...one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." As a Nation, we must never forget “the grace that has been shed on thee.”
We are a Nation whose very Constitution was formed on godly principles. Our Founding Fathers built a foundation for America on infallible truths found in God’s Word. God was brought into the very being of our land––roots of faith that bring stability and have caused its people from all walks of life to thrive, because we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. We grew to become the greatest Nation on the face of the earth. America in the past has been blessed by God. Could it be we are now being judged by God? May we humble ourselves in prayer so that God would once again shed His grace on this great land.
