Are You Under Grace?
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14
Underline this Scripture. Look at the power of grace over the Law of God. It is incredible. As a Christian, sin shall not rule your life; it has no dominion any longer. The Lord rules over your life. Sin can no longer be master of your life! It cannot. Why? We are now under the grace of God. We understand grace––it is God’s unmerited favor. The grace of God is amazing. We need God’s grace. Look at what God’s grace has done for us! We have a new life, and we are free from sin.
How I thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ. He wipes out all our sins, as if we had never sinned. God has forgiven us of our sins; he has washed and cleansed us. He takes our sins and casts them as far as the east is from the west. He buries them in the deepest part of the ocean and remembers them never, ever again (Psalm 103:12; Micah 7:19). When we die, we are going to heaven. God reveals His grace to us in the Scriptures:
John 1:17: For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:7: In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
What an incredible lesson! The Bible is so amazing––the living Word of God. We cannot live without it or exist apart from it. Do you understand your need for the amazing power of God’s grace to work in your life?
We are born with our backs upon God and heaven, and our faces upon sin and hell, till grace comes and that converts — turns us.
