Use Every Opportunity to Preach the Gospel

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Acts 16:9-10

The Apostles used every opportunity, whether they were in good circumstances or bad, to preach the Gospel. As we study the book of Acts, we will notice how the Holy Spirit guided the Apostles. For instance, the Apostle Paul and his coworkers were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach in Asia (Acts 16:6), but the doors were wide open to share the gospel with those in Macedonia.

The Church in Antioch was Paul’s main station before he set out to travel on three missionary journeys. The first journey is described in Acts 13-14. He traveled to Seleucia, a seaport to Cyprus––a Mediterranean Island. Then Paul and his companions set sail to Pamphylia, modern-day Turkey, and Galatia and as far as the city of Derbe.

His second journey is recorded for us in Acts 15:36 through Acts 20:38. Paul established many of the churches he would later write to in his pastoral epistles. The third journey is documented in Acts 18:23 through Acts 20:38. Paul strengthened all the disciples as he passed from place to place. In the history of his ministry, it is believed Paul established at least 14 churches. He traveled more than 10,000 miles faithfully preaching the Gospel of Jesus.

This was one man filled with the Holy Spirit. He went to preach the Gospel without any modern technology. Paul traveled by walking, by mule, and by ship. How we need the same vision and passion as Paul. He endured so many hardships and persecution and finally faced his death to fulfill his call. God wants to use us so people can have eternal life and not be lost eternally. Will you obey the call of God?

All over the world God is opening doors of opportunity, making it possible for us to take the Gospel to millions who have never heard of Christ.
