God Sent Jesus Christ
“…and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”
Acts 3:20-21
What was the Apostle Peter speaking about? He spoke about something the Jews knew and understood––the restoration of Israel. After Jesus’ Resurrection and Ascension to heaven, Peter knew that one day Jesus would return and continue to fulfill even more Messianic prophecies––all that God had spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
These Old Testament prophecies include God’s judgment and the time of Israel’s restoration. There are still many prophecies yet to be fulfilled in Scripture. Peter had a good knowledge of them. Do you? God will use a man like Peter––a man of prayer, a man full of the Holy Spirit, and a man of the Word. Be that man!
Most of us have memorized John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” We understand by this verse that Jesus was sent by the Father to save us. Jesus is our Savior!
Before Jesus went to the Cross to die for our sins, He prayed earnestly to the Father. In Jesus’ prayer, He revealed that He was sent by the Father: “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3). A person can only receive eternal life––everlasting life––through Jesus Christ.
Jesus will be sent again. He will return and take His Church––His Bride––to heaven. Are you ready for His return? So many people missed His first coming; do not miss His second coming!
The first time [Christ] came to slay sin in men. The second time He will come to slay men in sin.
