The Building of a Third Temple
... for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Did you know that there are some Jews in Jerusalem today who believe at Mount Moriah, in the Old City, beneath and behind the Wailing Wall, there are extensive tunnels where the Ark of the Covenant is hidden? They are waiting for the right time to reveal where it is. Interestingly, I have been in Jerusalem and have seen how the Orthodox Jews are already preparing to build the third Temple. They have all the utensils and items that are needed to restart animal sacrifices. Everything has already been recreated. All they are waiting for is the rebuilding of the Temple.
The location for the third Temple will be on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem where the Muslim Dome of the Rock is also located.
The Antichrist will give the permission for the Jews to worship in peace for 3½ years, but then he will go in and sit in the Temple and declare himself to be God and demand to be worshiped (2 Thessalonians 2:4). God will open the eyes of the Jews to know who he is––the Antichrist.
The Antichrist will kill two-thirds of the Jewish population; the rest will flee to the city of Petra in the wilderness of Judea, on the other side of Jordan. This place carved out of rock has already been prepared by God. It has a very narrow entrance. God will seal and protect the Jews in the city for the last 3½ years of world history. In Revelation 12:6, 14, we learn:
Then the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days ... that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
We are living in the last days, and the time is at hand!
We are very near the final climactic events that end with the Second Coming of Christ.
