The Rejected Stone

“This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:11-12

Peter wanted the Jews to understand something important. He went back a thousand years to quote from Psalm 118:22: The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. Peter preached from a known Old Testament Scripture about Christ; the rulers and elders were the ones who chose to reject Christ. Unbelief had taken root in their hearts. Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone of the Church as written in Ephesians 2:19-22.

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Then Peter really became bold before them, saying, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Peter preached a message of salvation through Jesus––period.

People may ask, “You mean to tell me that Krishna cannot save me?” “No!” “Buddha?” “No!” “Mary?” “No!” “The Pope?” “No!” “Then who can save me?” “Jesus Christ––period.” He is the Stone! The Rock of your Salvation. You may say, “You are too narrow-minded. Tell Jesus that. He said the only road to heaven is the narrow way, and only few find it (Matthew 7:13-14). No one goes to heaven except through Jesus Christ.

Give that truth to Congress, to the House of Representatives, and the President of the United States!
