Leadership Principles

“Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men
of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may
appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer
and to the ministry of the word.”
Acts 6:3-4

I believe, whatever you are called to do in life, whether in church or as a businessman in the secular world, you have to have good leadership skills. In order to be a man or woman of integrity, why not keep the leadership principles given in the Bible? Then you will do well. Any leadership operating under the worldly system, where people lie and cheat to get ahead in life, is flawed.

In the secular business world, some of your hired employees will not have any of the good leadership qualifications mentioned––men or women with a good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. Dishonest gain can happen in your company. Pray for your employees to become saved. Then through the power of the Holy Spirit, these characteristics and qualifications will develop in their lives, and, in turn, your company will benefit. These people will become a huge blessing in your business.

Whether you are an employer or employee in the secular world, or you are serving in some capacity within the ministry, do you have a good reputation? There is value in having a good name: A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold (Proverbs 22:1). Are you a person full of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit gifts certain people with His wisdom and knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:8).

God gives Christians His wisdom, knowledge and understanding: For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding… (Proverbs 2:6). The real question then becomes, “Do you know the Lord?” Without Him you will not have the leadership skills necessary to be successful. Take into consideration that people without God will pride themselves for their accomplishments, but a person who knows God will give Him the glory. He is the One who has anointed them.

Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flow charts.
It is about one life influencing another.
