A Transformed Life
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1-2
When we are born again of the Holy Spirit, do you know what happens? There is a transformation––a change. When this transformation takes place, we will never be the same again. Really take time to contemplate what is written in Titus 3:4-7:
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Regeneration is a work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the person. What does the word regeneration mean? The word regeneration means “new birth”, “renewal.” It describes the impartation of a new life consecrated to God, a radical change of mind for the better. When we experience regeneration, there is a change of heart and attitude. The word is often used to denote the restoration of something to its pristine state––its renovation. Being born again is a renewal or restoration of life after death.
Due to our regeneration, we can now love and serve God. We are enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit to walk in holiness. This also means that we not only start reading the Word of God, but we obey it.
What is so exciting is that we begin to see how God is changing and using our lives. Knowing God means you experience joy and peace in His presence.
Nothing in or of this world measures up to the simple pleasure of experiencing the presence of God.
