Bold Access

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Hebrews 10:19-22

What a privilege we have been given; we have an open door to boldly enter into the Holiest, by the blood of Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, earthly priests offered dead animal sacrifices on an altar. The High Priest, once a year, went behind the thick veil into the Holy of Holies and sprinkled the blood of an animal upon the mercy seat for his sin and the sins of the people (Leviticus 16).

In the New Testament, the door was opened for us to come before God’s presence because Jesus Christ became a living sacrifice. When He died on the Cross, the veil in the Temple was torn: Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom... (Matthew 27:51). This meant God was now approachable. Jesus became our High Priest and, through the offering of His body, consecrated a new and living way for us to access God’s throne room 24/7, 365 days a year!

By faith, we can boldly come before God: ...in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13). It is only through Christ that we can have peace with God:

For He [Jesus] Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace... (Ephesians 2:14-15).

Through Jesus Christ, as believers, we have received God’s Spirit–– having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. It is through the indwelling Spirit that we have become renewed and have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18).

In fellowship; alone to God, with faith, draw near, approach His Courts, besiege His throne with all the power of Prayer.
