A Message for All to Hear
And Paul said, “I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.”
Acts 26:29
This was so beautiful. Paul responded to King Agrippa’s comment that he was almost persuaded to become a Christian by saying that he not only wished the King would become a Christian, but that everyone else who heard the message would also become a Christian. He wished everyone was like him––minus his chains! Paul had such an urgency for all of them to have Jesus in their hearts.
Think of how many people you know who have lost an opportunity to accept Christ. They may have procrastinated and put it off by saying, “I will wait until next time.” This is such a mistake. When the Holy Spirit brings conviction to a person, they must act quickly upon that conviction and not delay a decision of salvation. Listen, the Bible tells us, today is the day of salvation, because tomorrow may never come.
God’s message of salvation reaches out to the entire population of the earth. What has He to say to lost sinners? Although the entire Bible relates His message of salvation and should be read, the Gospels can be summarized in this one amazing verse: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Why perish? Today is the day of salvation! If you have not done so already, respond to God’s love. He sent His Son to die for you! What then will be your decision?
Our chaotic, confused world has no greater need than to hear the message of good news––the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
