Start Your Day with Prayer

...praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints....
Colossians 1:3-4

Paul commenced his prayer with such confidence and thankfulness to God because he had heard of the faith and love of the Colossian believer’s for all the saints. He prayed continuously for them, knowing that their contagious Christ-like, agape love had such a great influence on others to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Christians in Colosse were able to spread the gospel without the means of modern travel or technology that we enjoy today. What about us, are we taking full advantage of everything we have to share the gospel? I believe that one of the most beautiful things about prayer is that you do not need modern technology or travel because you can go to any place in the world through prayer. In our personal times of prayer, we, too, can reach the world for Jesus Christ!

Years ago, Pastor Chuck Smith encouraged us to place on our refrigerators a reminder to pray and ask the Lord to bless Calvary Chapel. Every breakfast time, every lunch hour, and every evening when we are with our families, we can pause to pray all three times, asking the Lord to bless every believer here at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs.

Like Paul, we should always pray for all the saints––believers in Christ. Start your day with prayer––with intimate communion with God. As you do, pray for other Christians whom God lays on your heart. We need each other as believers. Will you be committed to pray always for other brothers and sisters in Christ?

Prayer as it comes from the saint is weak and languid; but when the arrow of a saint's prayer is put into the bow of Christ's intercession it pierces the throne of grace.
