Future Biblical Events
When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Colossians 3:4
In the book of Colossians, Paul kept the truth of God active––current. He will speak to us about our future in Jesus Christ––we will be with Him in glory. We know that the end of the age is imminent because of eschatology––biblical prophecy. God has given us a prophetical calendar of 7000 years that will be fulfilled. We are living in the last days, and we are just about ready to close out 6000 years of earth’s history––the imperfection of fallen man.
I recently saw a scientific magazine with the title: This is the Future. The article showed a picture of a man with a shaved head with a microchip that was used to control his thinking and emotions. Everything is working toward a one-world unity––a one-world government. They want everyone to be the same.
In biblical prophecy, this is exactly what the Bible teaches. Read the book of Daniel 7-10 and the book of Revelation. There will be a one-world government system. We see a tremendous conflict all across America, as people fight against the socialist and communist agenda that would wipe out capitalism. This destructive ideology is spreading all around the world.
The next prophetical event is the Rapture of the Church. Although we do not know when it will take place, we need to be ready, as in an instant we shall be raptured to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Then for seven years, the world will enter into the period of the Tribulation––a time of great destruction and suffering that the world has never seen before.
Are you living a holy life? Then you will be living in readiness for the Rapture.
God has wisely kept us in the dark concerning future events and reserved for himself the knowledge of them, that he may train us up in a dependence upon himself and a continued readiness for every event.
