Christ’s Appearing

...so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Hebrews 9:28

The writer of the book of Hebrews mentioned the wonderful promise of Jesus’ Coming. He came once already; He came in humility to die for the sins of the world. Who will He be coming for when He comes the second time? It is only for those who are saved––those who eagerly wait for Him. He will come for His dear ones––those who are precious to Him, those who have been set apart, holy. The Savior will come for His Bride––the Church. Jesus will bring His salvation. That is so beautiful!

True Christians are not fearful of God’s judgment, or the wrath of the Living God; they look forward to Jesus’ coming––for His salvation. When the Rapture comes, we shall be with Jesus Christ forever in eternity. We are going to attend the marriage supper of the Lamb:

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints (Revelation 19:7-8).

Who is the Lamb? Jesus Christ! Who is His wife? The Church––the Bride of Christ. After seven years at the Supper of the Lamb concludes, there will be a thousand-year righteous reign of Christ:

They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were finished.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who takes part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6 NIV).

Are you ready for Christ’s Second Coming? If Jesus was to come back today, what would He find you doing?
