The Miracle of Christmas
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7
Christ is the miracle of Christmas. The miracle of Christ’s conception was discussed between a young woman, a virgin, and God’s messenger, the Angel Gabriel. He told her the news that she would conceive a Son:
Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:34-35).
Christ was born, and His cradle was a manger. There lay the miracle of Christmas––deity wrapped in human flesh:
...who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men (Philippians 2:6-7).
Jesus’ birth celebrates the miracle and hope for mankind’s salvation: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Christ is the greatest miracle of Christmas! When you embraced Jesus Christ by faith for your salvation, the Savior of the world bestowed upon you the miracle of a spiritual birth, (John 3:3), the miracle of regeneration––a changed heart and life.
If you desire forgiveness of sin and a chance to begin a new life, then receive Christ––the miracle of Christmas.
The very purpose of Christ's coming into the world was that he might offer up his life as a sacrifice for the sins of men. He came to die. This is the heart of Christmas.
