The Christmas Story
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 1:18
As we enter the month of December, families have already begun shopping and preparing for Christmas. Although very commercialized, and the stores are eager for us to make purchases, this is a time for Christians to shine. Let your light shine this Christmas!
Display a Nativity Scene in your yard or home. Send Christmas cards that give the message of Jesus’ birth. Go Christmas caroling, and visit the elderly. Prayerfully, prepare your hearts and homes for family gatherings, to love those who you may find difficult. Be giving. Is there a struggling family you can help this Christmas? Be open to share the love of Christ wherever you go.
Christmas is not all about the Christmas trees, the glittering decorations, twinkling lights and beautifully wrapped presents. Keep Christ in Christmas! On Christmas day, Parents and Grandparents, sit together with your families and make sure to retell the Christmas story to your children and grandchildren.
Read the account of Christ’s birth from the Bible. This will make for a Christ-centered Christmas filled with love and joy. Your children and grandchildren will grow to understand the miraculous events of Jesus Christ’s birth. They will remember the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. Help them to learn the reason why God sent His Only Begotten Son into the world. Christ is our Savior. He was born to save us all from sin and Satan’s power.
God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy….
