Why Grace Changes People
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age....
Titus 1:11-12
God’s grace has appeared to whom? His grace has appeared to all men! Salvation has been freely offered to everyone. How is this possible? John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
The amazing grace of God that brings salvation is ours for the taking. All we have to do is genuinely repent of our sins, ask for forgiveness, and God’s grace will be poured out upon our lives. But people have the freewill to choose to accept or reject the love of God and His way of salvation through Christ alone. There will be a time in your life when you will have to make this important decision. How will you respond to the grace of God? You have a choice to accept or reject God’s gift of salvation: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
If you choose to accept God’s way of salvation by placing your faith in His Son, His grace will change your entire life. Every sin committed in your past will be gone; forgiven; and you will be given a second chance at life: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Can you imagine how that must feel? Do you want to be set free from your sin to joyfully start on a new path of life? Psalm 16:11 NLT gives a glimpse into what that is like: You [God] will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Grace changes people! Give your life to God!
We don’t need someone to remind us of our failures as much as we need someone to show us the way out of our predicament.
We need grace, not guilt.
