Preaching Christ

...they [Paul and his companions] came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.”
Acts17:1-3

Paul was called to teach the Word of God––to preach Christ. Preaching and teaching described his ministry. When he came to any new destination, he would look for a Synagogue, as he first preached to the Jews. We shall witness the incredible response of people moved by his preaching. Many came to Christ, but others became envious and violent.

I remember when I first became saved; I had such an urgency and excitement to preach the Gospel. During this time, there were many different worship groups that God had raised up. One of them was Love Song. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, beautiful songs of worship were written. These groups were very anointed by the Holy Spirit. Hundreds and thousands of hippies came to hear their music, but not just the worship. They were hungry for God’s Word. They wanted to know God more.

In reaching our generation today, it is hard to explain to them what it was like to be in the presence of God when the Holy Spirit was saving so many young people. As you came into the house of the Lord, you could feel the Shekinah glory of God as you sat there in amazement––listening to God’s Word. When you left the service, all you wanted to do was go and tell everyone about Jesus. There was empowered evangelism.

Did you know, worship prepares the human heart to hear the message? It is an important part of the service. It brings you right into the presence of God. When you listen to a sermon, ask the Lord to speak to your heart directly, not the person sitting next to you––it needs to change your heart.

Do you have a hunger and thirst to know God more?

I want to know you, I want to hear your voice.
I want to know you more. I want to touch you.
I want to see your face, I want to know you more.
