Kings and Priests
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 1:5-6
When Jesus Christ comes again, He will set up His kingdom. In the Kingdom Age, we are going to become kings and priests, to rule with Him on the earth:
“For You [Jesus] were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:9-10).
When the Lord comes for His Church, pray you will be worthy to escape all the destruction coming on the earth during the Tribulation Period. Jesus told His disciples: “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).
That is why it is important for you, as a Christian, to actively serve the Lord and be rooted and grounded in His Word. There will be a time of judgment for believers in Christ––not for their sins–– but for their works. Christians will stand before Jesus at the Bema Seat of Christ: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).
From the moment you receive Christ, every work done for Him, one day will be thrown into the fire. Your motives and attitudes will be judged. A reward will be given to you, depending on whether these works burn as wood, hay or stubble which ignites to ashes, or whether your works survive as gold or silver. If nothing is left from the fire, because salvation is the free gift of God, you will be saved. If your works for Him were found to be of value, you shall receive a crown (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
Those who died as martyrs in the Tribulation Period will not reign, but they will serve God day and night (Revelation 7:14-15). Only those who have been faithful in serving God while they lived will reign with Him.
Whosoever will reign with Christ in heaven, must have Christ reigning in him on earth.
