Christ Is God

… to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.
Romans 9:4-5

The faithfulness of God is seen in His love toward the nation of Israel. Notice the accountability Israel has in that God has done so much for them. He has adopted them as His sons and daughters. Israel has seen the Shekinah glory of God demonstrated in God’s deliverance from Egypt. God protected, provided for and guided His people during their time in the wilderness. He led them by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Exodus 13:21).

Then God gave the covenant to them––the agreement He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for blessing the people of God. The Lord gave the Law to Moses––the Ten Commandments. In the service of God, in the tabernacle, was where He met with the priests of the Lord for the people. They would confess the sins of the people as they would bring a goat to be killed, bled and sacrificed to God for their sins. God responded to them and forgave them of their sins (Exodus 20-21).

Behind every one of their battles, God fought for them. He did so much for the nation of Israel––all these things! Israel should have turned to God and stayed with God, but instead, they turned away from God.

Paul declared that Jesus is God! He explained His deity. He used the literal Greek when stating: Christ came, who is [God] over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. This is a proof found within the Scriptures that Jesus is God. Then Paul made another proclamation, Christ came through the lineage of Abraham. Israel had the opportunity to evangelize the whole world so people could know God––but they did not do it.

You see, the people of Israel have every opportunity to be saved!

The Son of God became the Son of Man in order that the sons of men might become the sons of God.
